Loans and Orders at the Central University Library

All of the media that is located in the open stacks areas can be taken from the shelves and borrowed directly from the Service Desk or using the self-service machines. Journals, newspapers and general reference books cannot be borrowed.

Literature that is located in the closed stacks is not freely accessible and has to be ordered prior to use. Orders can be made through the online catalogues or using a white library ticket.
To order media in the OPAC, Discovery System or electronic card catalogues, click on the "order" button and enter your user number and password.
Journals can be ordered via the Discovery System or like other collections that are stored in the closed stacks by using a white library ticket. They are available at all of the service desks.

Some of the collections from the former subject libraries have only been registered in conventional card catalogues and can therefore only be ordered using the white library tickets. The conventional card catalogues are located in the basement of the light well next to the main staircase of the Central University Library.

Please note:
As soon as media has been ordered from the card catalogues it will be registered in the OPAC.

Orders  from the Central University Library´s closed stacks will be made available in the self-service pick up area opposite the Service Desk.

Orders from academic staff members wishing delivery to the institute/department or the Departmental Library can take one further work day.

Essays can be ordered online from the University Library Greifswald´s journal collections using the campus delivery service.
The essays are delivered to the desired workstation.
