Service Desks
Location
Service Desks are located at all of the University Library´s facilities that are accessible to the public. The Service Desk at the Central University Library manages the user accounts and is the first point of contact for any queries.

During service hours, the Service Desk is manned with trained staff that can help with any question regarding loans and user accounts.
Please note
Loans are managed electronically using the user account. Renewals, orders and reservations can be made via the internet, from the comfort of your home.

Services at the Central University Library
The Service Desk at the Central University Library manages the central registration for the use of the University Library. It also sets up accounts for interlibrary loans. All fees can be paid here in cash.
The Service Desk is responsible for loans of literature based at the Central University Library (from 1851) and providing the orders for the non-circulatory collections from the Central University Library´s closed stacks and the Library Archive Am Schießwall. This is also where interlibrary loans are picked up or returned.
Reserved and ordered media can be collected from the self-service pick up area that is located opposite the Service Desk.
The Service Desk is also responsible for providing the keys to the single carrels, the workstation trolleys and the special lockers.
Lost property at the Central University Library can also be collected from or handed into the Service Desk.
Services at the Departmental Library
The Service Desk at the Departmental Library is responsible for loans of the collections it holds and for providing the Arts/Humanities and Theology literature from the Library Archive Am Schießwall.
Loans and interlibrary loans can also be returned to the Departmental Library.
The Service Desk looks after lost property.
Services at the Old University Library
The Service Desk at the Old University Library is responsible for loans from the open stacks area and the literature from the closed stacks. It also supervises the use of the Special Collections. Loans and interlibrary loans can also be returned here.
