You wish to change from an older Citavi version to Citavi 6?

Please note:

If you have used Citavi´s publication assistants to insert title placeholder in LibreOffice or Open Office, do not upgrade to Citavi 6. Citavi 6.0 no longer operates with title placeholders. There is no obligation to upgrade, you can work (continue to work) with Citavi 5 (see below).

  1. Find out about the newest functions (www.citavi.com/c6new), changes (www.citavi.com/c6changed) and the upgrade process (www.citavi.com/c6upgrade).
  2. Download the installation file of Citavi 6: www.citavi.com/download.
  3. Uninstall the older Citavi versions. This will not affect your projects and settings.
  4. Install Citavi 6 and login with your Citavi account data (your university email address and your password). The login in Citavi replaces the former process, in which you had to enter your licence data.
Forgotten your password? You can have this reset using the login form.(www.citavi.com/login).
  5. The Start-up Wizard will assist you in converting your old projects to the Citavi 6 format. Your Word document is copied by the Citavi Word add-in when opened for the first time and the fields it contains converted for Citavi 6.
