Online Interlibrary Loans

The fastest way to access literature that is not availabel at Greifswald's libraries is to use online interlibrary loans. In this case the literature is made available from other libraries.

When using online interlibrary loans, the user independently orders literature via the internet. The access details for online interlibrary loans are available from the service desk at the Central University Library. During registration for online interlibray loans, a password and credit account will be created.

The online interlibrary loans make it possible to order the required literature (books or essay copies) from any internet connection.

Please note:
Before submitting any online order, the following catalogues must be searched to make sure that the literature is not available at one of Greifswald's libraries:

Keeping to these search principles will save unnecessary delays and costs.

• In accordance with University Library Greifswald's Gebührenordnung (Fee Regulations) one unit costs €1.50.
• One unit is equivalent to one piece of ordered literature (monograph/essay).

K10puls Union Catalogue of the GBV and SWB (Library Networks of the northern and southwestern federal states)

A notification will be sent via email or by post when the literature has arrived at the library.
The processing status of an online order can be viewed in the interlibrary loan account of the Union Catalogue. Orders that were unsuccessful, will be further processed by the staff members of the Interlibrary Loans Office. An email notification will also be sent out.

If no hits were made in the K10plus Union Catalogue, you can search for and order literature from other networks.
