We Offer the Following Formats

We regularly offer training courses, workshops and coffee talks for various target groups – from basic introductions to specific topics related to Open Access publishing.

Individual Workshops

For an individual workshop, you can choose from the topics listed below in our contact form or suggest your own topics. We will design a workshop for your institute, graduate college or other institution according to your needs. The content and duration can be arranged according to your requirements.

Here are some topics to choose from:

  • Open Access in a nutshell: What is Open Access, why is it important, and what are the options for Open Access publishing?
  • Secondary publications and Self-Archiving: legal framework, repositories, preprints
  • Financing Open Access: payment of article processing charges (APCs), agreements with publishers (e.g. DEAL), financing of Open Access books
  • Publishing dissertations: as monographs, cumulatively
  • Open Access books: options, models, financing
  • CC licences: What licences are available for texts, data and software, and what uses do they allow?
  • Predatory journals: How can you distinguish reputable and non-reputable journals? What are quality criteria and what are ‘predatory journals’?
  • Publishing journals: Do you want to convert your journal to Open Access but are facing obstacles? We can help you overcome them.
